What is actually different
Two things, and we would rather say them plainly than dress them up. The blade is Japanese steel. And the tool is heavier — 0.1 lb against 0.073, with a thicker body. Everything else is our standard swivel peeler: the same swivel head, the same dual blade, the same sealed handle.
Why weight is a preference, not a feature
Some cooks want a peeler they barely notice; others want to feel the tool working. A heavier body pushes into the skin with less effort from the hand, which some people find easier over a big bag of potatoes and others simply find heavier. It is worth a dollar if it is what you like, and nothing if it isn’t.
The swivel is still the point
A fixed blade skips at the curve beside a potato eye or bites in and takes the flesh with the skin. The swivel joint lets the blade tilt with the surface, so the strip stays even from end to end. That is true of both our peelers; it is the reason either of them beats a paring knife.
Not the right tool if…
You are choosing on price, or you prefer a light tool. Our standard Non-Slip peeler does the same job, in three colours, for a dollar less. Pick this one for the blade and the weight, not because it is further up the list.
Registered, it carries our lifetime warranty. Two minutes, and it’s ours to replace.
