FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are Deiss tools made of?
The working part of almost every Deiss tool — the blade, the grating surface, the cutting wheel — is stainless steel. Handles are soft-touch plastic, rubber or silicone, so the tool stays put in a wet hand. A few products use glass or ceramic where those materials suit the job better.
The exact materials for any item are listed on its product page under Additional information.
Are Deiss tools dishwasher safe?
Most of them are — after use you can put them straight in the dishwasher. A small number are hand-wash only.
Because it varies from product to product, the care instructions are given on each product page. Check there before the first wash.
How long is the Deiss warranty?
Deiss Kitchenware provides a lifetime warranty on its products. It is stated on every listing we publish, and it is the reason we ask you to register a purchase: registration is what lets us find your order later without you having to keep a receipt.
You can register a product, and later raise a claim, on the Warranty Activation page.
How do I register my warranty?
Open Warranty Activation and fill in the registration form: your name and email, where you bought the product (this site, Amazon, or another store), the purchase date and the order ID.
It takes about a minute, and you do it once per product.
What do I need in order to make a warranty claim?
Use the claim form on the same Warranty Activation page. Have ready:
- your Order ID;
- the address a replacement should be sent to;
- the issue category and a short description of what went wrong;
- at least one photo or video showing the problem.
The upload is required. A clear photo of the fault is the fastest route to a resolved claim, because it usually answers our follow-up questions before we ask them.
Are Deiss tools usable if I am left-handed?
The swivel peelers are built to be used in either hand — that is part of their design and is stated in their product descriptions.
Where handedness makes a difference to a specific tool, it is noted on that product’s page.
Fine, coarse, box or rotary — which grater do I actually need?
It depends on what you grate most often. The short version: fine for hard cheese, citrus zest, garlic and nutmeg; coarse for vegetables and semi-hard cheese; a box grater when you want several surfaces in one tool; a rotary when you want to keep your knuckles well away from the blade.
We wrote a longer guide that works through all four: How to choose a grater. You can also browse the full range in the shop.
How should I look after my Deiss tools?
Wash soon after use rather than letting food dry on the blade — dried citrus zest and hard cheese are the most stubborn things to get off a fine grating surface.
- Keep abrasive scouring pads away from grating surfaces; they dull the teeth.
- Dry the tool before putting it away.
- Use the cover or blade guard it came with — it protects the edge, and it protects your fingers when you reach into a full drawer.
How is my order shipped?
Orders placed on this site are picked, packed and dispatched from an Amazon fulfilment centre — the same network that handles our Amazon orders, which is why the packaging and tracking look familiar if you have bought from us there.
You receive a tracking number by email as soon as the parcel leaves the warehouse. Delivery options and costs for your address are shown at checkout, before you pay.
Something is wrong with my order — what should I do?
Write to [email protected] with your order number and a short description of the problem. If the item arrived damaged, attach a photo — it saves a round of emails.
If the issue is with the product itself rather than the delivery, the claim form on the Warranty Activation page sends it straight to the right place.
Can I return something if I simply changed my mind?
Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to send back an unused item in its original packaging, for a refund or an exchange.
Write to [email protected] first — we reply within 1–2 business days with the return address. Return shipping is paid by you in this case, and once we have checked the item we refund you within 10 business days.
The full conditions are on the Returns and refunds page.
My order arrived damaged. What happens now?
Contact us within 14 days of delivery and send photos of both the item and the packaging.
We will replace it or refund you in full, and you will not pay return shipping — that case is on us, not on you.
If a fault shows up later in normal use, that is the lifetime warranty rather than a return: use the claim form on the Warranty Activation page.
