The jar is the test
A measuring spoon that will not fit into a spice jar means tipping the jar onto the spoon over the pan, which is how a teaspoon of cumin becomes a tablespoon. These are narrow enough to go in and come out level.
One piece, no joint
Spoons made from a bowl riveted or welded to a handle bend at the join the first time someone digs into packed brown sugar or cold butter. These are formed from a single piece of stainless, so there is nothing to work loose.
Markings that outlive the spoon
Printed markings go through the dishwasher a few dozen times and then you are guessing. These are engraved into the metal, in both US and metric, deep enough to read without holding it to the light.
Together or apart
They nest on a ring so the set stays a set. Slide one off when you need it alone — the alternative is a ring you have to open one-handed with the other hand in the flour.
Not the right tool if…
You want cups as well, or you’d rather the set held itself together with magnets instead of a ring. Our LUX measuring set is eight pieces — cups and spoons, colour-coded, magnetic.
Registered, they carry our lifetime warranty. Two minutes, and it’s ours to replace.
